Help Wanted: Fleet Mechanic

QUALIFICATIONS:  Ideal candidate will have a background in heavy duty truck/school bus maintenance; ASE certification preferred; DOT certification ideal but not required to start (must obtain within 1 year).  The ideal candidate will also have extensive knowledge and skills to maintain a fleet of school buses and grounds equipment; late model freight liners with cat engines; extensive air brake knowledge.

Independent School District (ISD) 15 Fleet Mechanics are members of Operating Engineers Local 49.

JOB DUTIES:  We are a school district looking for a fleet mechanic. Position is to work with our other mechanics to fulfill our fleet maintenance requirements. 2nd shift work: Monday through Thursday (1:30PM to 11:00PM); Friday (1:30PM to 5:30PM).

Duty Days per Year:  261, prorated
Type of Position:  Continuing
Salary:  $18.40-$19.57 per hour, according to the Mechanic Work Agreement
Supervisor of Position: Dean Krause, Transportation Program Supervisor
